1 Program Management: An Introduction In this course, you will learn about what program management means for an infant-toddler professional and about the roles and responsibilities you can assume that contribute to the overall quality of your program. 2 Working as a Team This lesson will highlight the importance of teamwork when managing your infant and toddler classroom. You will learn how collaborating with colleagues and family members creates high-quality practices and better outcomes for the children and families in your care. You will also learn the importance of reflecting on your own experiences in teamwork and practices in classroom management. 3 Curriculum In this lesson, you will learn how the curriculum planning and the implementation of developmentally appropriate experiences and activities all contribute towards the management of your classroom. You will also explore the importance of professional development and how to become a life-long learner. 4 Child and Family Services Family members are the most significant people in young children’s lives, and infants and toddlers develop and learn within all types of families. When you view families as complex systems and you acknowledge their impact in early childhood you are better able to develop partnerships with families, and help create environments that meet the needs of each infant and toddler in your care. Strong partnerships with families help make the management of your infant and toddler classroom smooth and energized. This lesson shares perspectives for understanding families and provides an introduction to family-centered practice. 5 Evaluation for Continuous Improvement In this lesson, you will learn about the importance of evaluation as a way to know whether the services you provide to infants and toddlers in your classroom and program are going well and what aspects of your practice and program need improvement.
